Emma Ireton

A multi-disciplinary designer who enjoys each step of her design and making process, no matter the result.

Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, I grew up thriving on the movement and life of people, but with an appreciation for the calm serenity brought by nature. After moving to Salt Lake City, Utah, to attend the University of Utah and explore a new landscape, I found design.

Finding design was like finding your favorite new book, or meeting someone that you’ve always wanted to be friends with. Design makes me feel like I can do anything, and make anything. Design sparks excitement in me for the world around me, and I like the lens through which I see the world that design brought me.

I find myself truly me when I’m in nature. Next to design, skiing is my passion, and nothing brings me more joy than being outside in the mountains. From the mountains of Washington where I learned to ski, to the mountains of Utah that enticed me more than school, I love exploring the impressive beauty that mountains have to offer. If they’re covered in snow, even better!

Nature brings me more than I can put into words, and I know how important it is for my mentality and outlook to get back to nature and reconnect with myself. I feel passionate about protecting natural areas and sustaining nature to share with generations to come.

This translates to my design ethos, where I strive to pursue sustainable design, through materials, processes, and collaborations.
